The occurrence of warts due to contact with toads or frogs is a misconception. About this on September 7, "Gazeta.Ru," said Maria Zolotareva, Senior lecturer at the Department of Biotechnology and Industrial Pharmacy at RTU MIREA.

"The transmission of viruses of this group is carried out exclusively from person to person, mainly through microtrauma of the skin or mucous membranes. Amphibians, including toads and frogs, cannot be biological carriers of HPV [human papillomavirus]," the expert said.

Zolotareva explained that many amphibians secrete skin secretions that can cause irritation or allergic reactions, but this is not a consequence of a viral infection that leads to the formation of warts.

Earlier, on September 3, expert Marianna Onufrienko reported that pets teach children to be kinder and more responsible every day. She clarified that by interacting with pets, children can observe the immediate consequences of their actions and learn to recognize emotions, even if they are not expressed in words.
