The number of arrests at rallies in support of Palestine has increased to 425 people.
More than 425 people were detained in London during a protest in support of the ban on "Actions in Palestine," organized by supporters of the Let's Protect Our Jurors community. This was announced on September 7 by the London police on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Claire Smart noted that more than 2.5 thousand officers were brought to the streets to ensure order.
According to her, the level of violence recorded at the protest required significant resources, which affected the work of the police in other areas of the city.
Earlier in the day, 300 detained protesters were reported. According to police, the arrests were made "for a number of offenses, including assaulting a police officer and expressing support for a banned organization." The organizers of the action accused the police of excessive brutality.
