Microsoft reported damage to underwater cables in the Red Sea

On September 6, the American corporation Microsoft reported cable breaks passing through the Red Sea, as a result of which customers of its Azure cloud platform may face increased waiting times. A corresponding warning has been posted on the platform's status update website.

"Starting at 05:45 UTC (8:45 Moscow time. On September 6, 2025, traffic passing through the Middle East, originating and/or terminating in Asia or Europe may experience increased delays due to numerous breaks in underwater fiber optic cables in the Red Sea," the statement said.
