BRICS reported Zelensky's fear of possible talks with Putin
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is afraid of a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced on September 6 by Ahmed Adel, a Cairo-based researcher of geopolitics and political economy, in an article on the Infobrics portal.
"He [Putin] talked to all interested parties, except Zelensky, who should be most interested in preserving his country and people. Zelensky is afraid of such a meeting. He is used to acting in conjunction with Western leaders," the publication says.
It is noted that Zelensky is not ready to go to Moscow without the support of the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The author jokingly recalled that the negotiations that could hypothetically take place between Putin and Zelensky would most likely take place in Russian, which the Ukrainian leader knows and understands, although it is prohibited by law.
On September 3, Putin called on Zelensky to come to Moscow if he is ready for negotiations. The Russian leader clarified that he had never ruled out the possibility of a meeting with the Ukrainian president, but questioned the expediency of holding it.
On September 4, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called unacceptable the Russian president's offer to the Ukrainian leader to come to Moscow for talks. According to him, at least seven countries are ready to host a meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Russia to end the conflict, and Zelensky is ready for a meeting "at any moment" in the territories of other countries.
Later, on September 5, during the plenary session of the X Eastern Economic Forum (WEF), Putin promised to provide working conditions and security for the leader of the Kiev regime to meet in Moscow.
