Fico stated the harm of Kiev's actions for Europe
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Ukraine's actions, including threats to attack Russian energy infrastructure, harm the interests of other countries. He shared this on September 6 in the program "Saturday dialogues" of Slovak radio.
"It is absolutely obvious that Ukraine <... It doesn't seem to take into account the interests of other countries, and I don't recognize this principle. I want to repeat: everyone has the right to protect their interests and promote national interests, but this cannot be done at the expense of harming other countries," the politician said.
The Slovak Prime Minister also criticized the leaders of the European Union for not going to China to celebrate the 80th anniversary of China's victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II, missing the opportunity for dialogue.
"If we don't talk to each other and bury our heads in the sand, we are only exacerbating the crisis. And in fact, Europe has become isolated," Fico concluded.
On September 2, after a conversation in Beijing with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Fico said that he had made important conclusions that he would announce to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting on Friday. Also during the meeting, the Prime Minister of Slovakia promised to discuss with the President of Ukraine the issue of the inadmissibility of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the energy infrastructure.
On September 5, Zelensky, after a meeting with Fico, announced that he refused to supply oil and gas coming from Russia to Slovakia. He added that he was ready to supply gas and oil, but only if it was not Russian energy resources.
