A shark attacked an experienced surfer 100 m from the coast in Australia, the man died. This was reported on September 6 by The Mirror newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the incident occurred on Dee Why Beach in Sydney. As a result of the attack, 57-year-old Mercury Psillakis was seriously injured and "lost several limbs."

"The experienced surfer had only been in the water for about 30 minutes when he was attacked 100 m from the shore. Other surfers dragged the victim to the beach... However, he died on the spot," the publication says.

On September 2, CBS News reported that an eight-year-old boy was injured by a shark bite while snorkeling off Key Largo, and he was urgently taken to the Miami Trauma Center. It is specified that he was bitten in the leg.
