Peru called the BRICS leaders' summit a trend towards multipolarity
The upcoming extraordinary summit of the BRICS leaders on September 8 confirms the countries' trend towards multipolarity. This was announced to RIA Novosti on September 6 by Arturo Ayala, Secretary for International Relations of the Red Motherland Communist Party of Peru.
He commented on the initiative of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to organize the meeting.
"Lula da Silva's initiative is important in the context in which we find ourselves, where the unipolar order of American hegemony is being questioned, and what we actually see is confirmation of the trend towards multipolarity," Ayala believes.
According to the politician, strengthening the association should be the response of the developing world, which is currently a center for development, research, and concentration of people actively entering international markets.
Ayala added that cooperation within the framework of BRICS should be aimed at further strengthening common markets.
The Valor Economico newspaper reported on August 29 that the Brazilian authorities are preparing an extraordinary summit of the BRICS member countries in response to the challenges of the United States — negotiations can take place in the format of a videoconference. It was clarified that Lula da Silva plans to discuss with the heads of 11 countries of the bloc the actions of the United States that can influence the development of the multilateral world.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, September 5, during the plenary session of the X Eastern Economic Forum (WEF-2025) said that in the future the world will be multipolar. This is how he answered the question of which direction the future world will gravitate towards: the West or the East.
