The Head of State noted the originality and special, firm character of the city, which is still open to bold ideas and initiatives. The President also thanked the residents for preserving the traditions of the pioneer heroes and making a significant contribution to the development of the fuel and energy complex and the domestic economy as a whole.

Putin also pointed out the importance of efforts to preserve the unique nature, lifestyle and ancient customs of the indigenous peoples of the North and Siberia in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
