A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of forces improved the tactical situation and defeated the Ukrainian armed forces in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 155 militants, two armored combat vehicles, 13 vehicles, a field artillery piece, three electronic warfare stations and nine material depots.

The Zapad group of forces occupied more advantageous positions, and units of the Southern Group of Forces improved their tactical position and hit enemy manpower and equipment in the areas of the settlements of Fedorovka, Seversk, Perezdnoye and Yablonovka in the DPR. The losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to over 200 military personnel, five armored combat vehicles, five cars and three artillery pieces.

"The units of the Center group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. The manpower and equipment of four mechanized, three amphibious assault, assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the air defense brigade and the National Guard brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Rodinskoye, Novopavlovka, Zelenoe, Muravka, Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov of the Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 465 soldiers, a tank, two vehicles and two artillery pieces," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated ammunition and materiel depots, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 districts. In turn, air defense systems shot down five guided aerial bombs and 160 aircraft-type drones. In addition, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed a high-speed unmanned boat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 666 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 82,040 UAVs, 627 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,973 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,589 multiple rocket launchers, 29,289 field artillery and mortars, 41,170 pieces of special vehicles.
