In Beijing, the audience shared their impressions of the film "Red Silk"
In Beijing, the audience, who came to the screening of the film "Red Silk" co-produced by Russia and China, shared their impressions. Izvestia correspondent Viktor Sineok spoke with local residents on September 6.
The film was shown at the China Film International International Cinema (a branch of Oriental Plaza CINEMA), which is located in Beijing. In the footage, you can see how the entire interior of the corridors is filled with movie posters.
According to one of the audience, Huang Huanghe, he decided to come and watch the film because "Red Silk" is the first Russian—Chinese film in his memory.
"In addition, this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people over Japan and the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II. These are very significant dates," the man said.
Another viewer, Shin Lee, added that he decided to watch the film because of its connection to Russia, stressing that he also likes Russians.
"China and Russia have a rich common history, but we still don't know much about how relations between our countries have developed. It would be great if we could learn more about this through films," he concluded.
Global Time reported on September 5 that the film "Red Silk", which premiered in China on September 4, made a strong impression on viewers in China. The film has already collected more than 689 million rubles at the Russian box office and entered the top 10 highest-grossing films of the year.
Later, the Chinese edition of Sina noted that "Red Silk" has a unique charm. It is clarified that Russian viewers also appreciated the plot of the film and the action scenes with shootouts. In addition, the publication called the film an important project in celebration of the Year of Culture of Russia and China.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question from Izvestia on September 3 about the Red Silk, the first retro film made by the two countries, stressed that the idea of joint filmmaking between Russia and China belongs to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The film was created with the participation of NMG Kinoprokat, a company that is part of the National Media Group holding.
