Sirovatsky named important qualities for a successful career
To build a successful career, it is important to exercise discipline, develop hard skills and, if possible, avoid a junior management position. This was stated on September 6 by Alexander Sirovatsky, Vice President of Strategy at Media Instinct Group, during the youth forum "Day of the Future", "Upward trajectory. How career paths correlate with business growth" within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum - 2025 (WEF-2025).
"You have to be disciplined. If it says come at 10, you need to come at 10. If it says to send the document at 9:30 a.m., it should be sent at 9:29 a.m.," Sirovatsky said.
According to the expert, 20% of employees at the start of their career "fall down" on this very thing. Therefore, discipline is an important asset that will be relevant forever.
He also called for the development of hard skills, since it is precisely such skills that are relevant and in demand for a specialist.
"Soft skills are needed only at the executive level. at the level of a specialist, a junior specialist, no one needs it," the speaker added.
He also called for avoiding junior leadership positions and completing this stage of work as soon as possible.
"And such an insider, avoid junior leadership positions. <...> This is the hardest job: you've been given a little more money, but you're already a leader and people are asking you," the expert advised.
The jubilee Eastern Economic Forum is taking place on September 3-6 at the Far Eastern Federal University campus. This year, the main theme of the forum is "The Far East: cooperation for peace and prosperity." According to Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and executive secretary of the WEF-2025 organizing committee, 353 agreements totaling 6.51 trillion rubles were signed during the forum, excluding agreements that constitute a trade secret. The event was attended by 8.4 thousand people from 75 countries.
In his greeting to the participants, organizers and guests of the X WEF, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that over the past decade the WEF has rightfully earned a high reputation.
