In the Zalarinsky district of the Irkutsk region, one person was killed in a motorcycle accident. This was announced on September 6 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

"According to preliminary information, the 63-year-old driver, driving a Ural motorcycle with a sidecar in which there was a 57—year-old woman, <...> lost control, hit an animal and overturned the vehicle," the department's Telegram channel says.

The woman died at the scene, and the driver was hospitalized with injuries. It was established that the man did not have a permit to drive a motorcycle, and also that both participants in the accident were without motorcycle helmets and protective equipment.

At the moment, all the circumstances of the accident are being established.

Earlier, on September 5, it was reported that on the first weekend of September, traffic police officers will conduct massive and continuous checks on the country's roads, special attention will be paid to the search for drunk drivers. Raids on drunk motorists will take place in Kaluga, Tver, Ryazan, Kirov, Ivanovo regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Komi Republic and other regions of Russia.
