The expert named the reasons for the growing prestige of working professions

According to VTsIOM (the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion), the prestige of working professions in Russia has tripled since 2021. This was announced on September 6. "Газета.Ru ".

"The increase in wages for workers stimulates interest in the specialty among the population, and also has a positive effect on its perception. In turn, the increase in workers' salaries is caused by a shortage of personnel in the construction industry," explained Valentina Romanova, HR Director of the Lion Group.

She noted that at the moment there is a shortage of engineers, designers, designers, specialists for monolithic work, masonry and facade cladding. Romanova identified several reasons for the shortage of these specialists: the dynamic development of the industry, the demographic gap and the change in migration policy.

However, according to the expert, wage growth is significant, but not the only factor in increasing prestige. Another reason was the general burnout of people from office work.

But the increase in the interest of applicants should not be expected until next summer.

Earlier, on September 5, it was reported that last summer (June – August 2025), according to analysts' calculations, Russian companies became 66% more likely to indicate the requirement "knows how to work with artificial intelligence" in vacancies. They are willing to pay more for such skills.: applicants with knowledge of neural networks receive salaries on average 18% higher than a year ago.
