Brazil announced the possibility of using nuclear technology

Brazil does not rule out the use of nuclear technology in the military sphere due to the deteriorating international situation. This was reported on September 6 by the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo with reference to the Minister of Mining and Energy of the country Alexandri Silveira.

"Brazil may need nuclear technology to protect itself from external threats in the future if the world continues as it is," Silveira said.

He noted that the use of nuclear weapons for military purposes is currently a controversial issue, since, according to the country's constitution, they can only be used for energy production and medicine.
