Western countries are not interested in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This was stated on September 5 by Jeffrey Sachs, President of the Sustainable Development Network, Professor at Columbia University, at the session of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) "The UN Development Agenda after 2030".

According to him, there is now a breakdown in the ties between Western society and the rest of the world. There is currently no global consensus on the topic of sustainable development.

"The Western world still believes that they <...> rule the world. That was once the case, but now the Western world is not interested in sustainable development goals," Sachs said.

According to him, in 2015, when the Sustainable Development Goals were formulated, the countries tried to unite. Now, for example, Washington is not interested in the SDGs and does not even know what goals are on the agenda.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Western countries have become more aggressive in introducing their ideological ultimatums into the dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN). According to him, such a policy negatively affects their achievement.
