Zelensky refused to supply Russian oil to Slovakia after meeting with Fico
Ukraine will not supply Slovakia with oil and gas coming from Russia. This was announced on September 5 by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference after a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Uzhhorod.
"Russian oil, like Russian gas, has no future," the Ukrainian Ukrinform news agency quoted him as saying.
He added that he is ready to supply gas and oil to Slovakia, but only if it is not Russian energy resources.
On September 2, after a conversation in Beijing with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Fico said that he had made important conclusions that he would announce to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting on Friday. Also during the meeting, the Prime Minister of Slovakia promised to discuss with Zelensky the issue of the inadmissibility of attacks by Ukraine on energy infrastructure.
On August 22, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced that the Druzhba oil pipeline, which supplies Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, was again attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). On August 28, it became known that the oil supply had resumed.
