- More than 180,000 electric meters were replaced free of charge in residential buildings in Moscow.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 180,000 electricity meters have been replaced free of charge in residential buildings in Moscow. This was announced on Friday, September 5, by Deputy Mayor for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping Peter Biryukov.
According to him, it is planned to upgrade over 300,000 devices by the end of the year. He noted that the work is being carried out at the expense of Mosenergosbyt, which has been responsible for electricity metering since 2020, writes RT. The new multi-tariff meters last up to 30 years and will be connected to an intelligent system that automatically transmits consumption data, Moscow 24 notes.
Biryukov added that residents are warned in advance about the replacement date through announcements in the entrances, and the schedule is posted on the Mosenergosbyt website and application, the Moscow city News agency reports.
