The second stage of the Gorky Film Studio reconstruction on Eisenstein Street has been completed

The second stage of reconstruction of the historical site of the Gorky Film Studio on Sergei Eisenstein Street has been completed in Moscow. This was announced on Friday, September 5, by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

Together with the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, he inspected the new pavilions. Sobyanin recalled that the project is being implemented jointly with the Ministry of Culture and by the end of the year it is planned to complete all work both on the historical site and on Valdai Passage. The total area of the studio after modernization will exceed 100 thousand square meters. m.

Lyubimova noted that previously the studio's infrastructure did not meet modern requirements, and stressed the importance of updating it for the development of Russian cinema, writes Moscow 24.

Work began in January 2024. By August 2025, two stages were completed, reconstructing and building facilities with a total area of more than 15 thousand square meters. m. Among them are a modern pavilion, two small studios, a costume and props center, as well as a multifunctional Gorky Hall with 300 seats, NSN notes. In September, the II Moscow International Youth Film Festival "High" will be held there.

The third stage is planned to be completed by the end of the year: major repairs of the pavilions and auxiliary facilities. As a result, the site will have six modern pavilions with a full range of services for film and television production, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
