On September 7, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the Apostle Titus 70. He was born on the island of Crete into a family of noble pagans. At the age of 20, he heard a voice in a dream calling for him to abandon idol worship and secular sciences and seek salvation for his soul. After that, the saint began to study the works of the Christian prophets, and in the book of Isaiah he saw a reflection of his state of mind. When he heard about a certain Great Prophet, he went to Jerusalem, where he saw Christ and believed in him.
On the day of Pentecost, Titus witnessed the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. He was baptized by the Apostle Paul and began to accompany him on missionary journeys. Subsequently, Paul ordained him bishop of Crete. For many years, the saint took care of his flock and died peacefully at the age of 94.
