The Ministry of Industry and Trade noted the development of its own beer production in Russia

Russia has managed to develop its own beer production, and the support of this industry deserves attention from the authorities. This was announced on September 5 by Roman Chekushov, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, in the Izvestia studio during the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025).

"We can definitely safely talk about developing our own beer production. Therefore, probably, together with the industry, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, we will look, first of all, at this direction," he said.

The deputy minister added that beer production involves a vertically integrated industry, "from field to shelf." He clarified that currently most beer producers in the Russian Federation are controlled by Russian enterprises or managed by Russian teams, which once again proves the development of this industry.

According to Chekushov, domestic manufacturers will not focus on the problems or successes of colleagues and competitors, but will progressively independently develop the foam industry in the country.

Degree-free prospects: consumption of non-alcoholic beer in the Russian Federation increased by 8%

According to experts, Russians are increasingly opting for such drinks because of their healthy lifestyle.

Earlier, on September 3, analysts at AB InBev Efes told Izvestia that consumption of non-alcoholic beer in Russia increased by 8% in the first half of 2025. Traditionally, the seasonal factor is the driver of the growth of production and sales of such a foam drink. As a rule, the demand for brewing products is growing in spring and summer, and manufacturers are increasing their output.

On September 13, the Baltika Fest gastrofestival will be held at the Igora Drive autodrome.
