- Peskov pointed out the need for competition for the development of MAX
For the development of the national messenger MAX, competition with other messengers is needed, so other applications should continue to work in Russia. This was announced on September 5 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2025).
"They should stay in Russia. MAX must have competition. MAX will not be able to develop without competition, I am convinced of this," the press secretary said in an interview with TASS.
He stressed that the Telegram and WhatsApp messengers (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) should continue to work in Russia so that the national MAX platform has competitors.
According to Peskov, MAX should become a service that tens of millions of Russians will want to install, and it still has a long way to go.
On August 29, it was reported that MAX launched a new feature in the form of instant recording and sending video messages in the format of circles. The maximum recording time for a mug is 60 seconds. So, to start using the service, you need to update the application.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
