The UK has opened a case on the fact of animal cruelty in a shelter in Chekhov
The Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Moscow Region has opened a criminal case into the abuse of pets at a shelter in Chekhov, Moscow region. This was announced on September 5 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"It has been previously established that a resident of the village of Sharapovo, Chekhov city district, providing services for the care of pets, including their maintenance and training, in violation of the current law, committed cruelty to animals, tortured them with beatings, using electric shock collars on dogs. In addition, the animals were kept in improper conditions, which led to their mutilation in the form of abrasions," the department's Telegram channel says.
The investigators conducted an inspection of the place where the animals were kept. At the moment, the owners of the animals are being identified and the documentation is being studied. Interrogations are planned.
Earlier, on August 11, a resident of the Stavropol Territory starved two dogs to death. A criminal case was opened against the Stavropol resident under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruelty to animals"). He faces up to five years in prison.
