Russians were given ways to profitably plan a vacation in November

In November 2025, Russians will have a long holiday weekend: we will officially rest from November 2 to November 4 inclusive. On August 8, experts from Avito Rabota told Izvestia how to properly plan vacations and additional days off for the November holidays in order to prolong the rest and at the same time minimize salary losses.

The company noted that with proper planning, you can almost double the rest period by adding just a few vacation days.

So, if the priority is to increase vacation payments, it is advisable to arrange a vacation from October 27 to November 1. In this case, the employee will receive six calendar days' vacation pay, but six days of the total paid annual leave limit will be used. Financially, this option is more profitable.

"With a monthly salary of 114,943 rubles, income for 12 months will amount to 1,379,316 rubles, the average number of days per year will be 351.6, and the average daily earnings will be 3,922.97 rubles. In total, if you take a vacation from October 27 to November 1, the amount of vacation pay will be higher: 6 multiplied by 3,922.97 equals 23,537.81 rubles. This is the most profitable option in terms of the amount of vacation payments," the analysts explained.

Prices for tours, flights and accommodation will decrease only closer to October

For comparison, if you take a vacation on November 5, 6 and 7, the amount of vacation pay will be 11 786.91 rubles. This option is convenient for those who want to save vacation days. For employees with a five-day work week, this will allow them to get eight days of continuous rest from November 2 to November 9, while using only three vacation days. This is possible because the days of November 2, 3, 8, and 9 are legal days off, and November 4 is an official holiday that is not included in the vacation and is not paid. Thus, by taking a vacation for only three working days — on November 5, 6 and 7, it is possible to save four days of vacation and get a mini-vacation.

Additionally, you can increase the length of rest with the help of time off, which are provided for work on weekends or holidays, as well as for overtime work. One day off is equal to one day of rest and can be provided in lieu of monetary compensation. For example, if an employee has been delayed at work several times and has accumulated a total of eight overtime hours, he has the right to take an additional day off for this.

The same rule applies when working on holidays — instead of an increased pay, you can take a day off in consultation with the employer. If you have donated blood during the year and have not yet used your extra day off for donors, then you can apply for it. This is another way to add a day to your vacation.

Earlier, doctor Svetlana Mirgorodskaya called the rules of rest for the eyes when working at a computer. According to her, the "20-20-20" rule must be followed: after 20 minutes of intensive work, you need to look for 20 seconds at 20 feet (6 m) into the distance, to the end of the office, out the window, and so on.
