Singer Mikhail Shufutinsky told Izvestia on September 5 that he was glad to be a part of Russia, commenting on the information about his obtaining Russian citizenship.

Earlier, the media reported that the singer received a Russian passport in August. Prior to that, he had US citizenship, which expired in 2022.

"I don't understand why this surprises you so much. I was born in Moscow, and I am a Russian citizen! Russia is my homeland, it is my country and I am glad to be a part of it. My son and his family are also Russian citizens. And I would be pleased if you were more interested in my work and my plans," said Shufutinsky.

In addition, the singer noted that the main event of the day for him is today's release of the song and video "Koktebel". The author of the music and poetry is Daria Kuznetsova. The song is dedicated to "the beauty of the real Crimean pearl of our country."

On September 3, the artist spoke about the performance of his famous song "September 3". He shared that the performance depends on the mood, and it helps to sing differently each time.
