The most popular specialty in AI is named
In Russia, the demand for AI analytics and process optimization specialists has increased dramatically. The number of vacancies for a process analyst in 2024 increased by an average of 3.5 times compared to 2018. Experts note that such employees are becoming key in the digital transformation of a business. A discussion about this took place at the ProcessTech Saransk forum during the discussion of labor market research in the field of AI from hh.ru and the Infomaximum company.
"Process analysts today are the initiators of significant business changes," says the leader of Process Mining and process analysis. hh.ru Dasha Danilina. "They don't limit themselves to describing the process and analyzing bottlenecks, but rather looking for business opportunities to earn more, propose and test hypotheses, and initiate efficiency improvement projects with measurable effect."
The employers' request has also changed: if back in 2024 the ability to model processes and master notations was considered key, then in 2025 the top 5 skills included business process optimization (63%), business analysis (61%), business process modeling (433%), business process analysis (41%), process description (36%) and analytical thinking (33%).
"According to our forecasts, the Russian Process Mining market will grow to 9.2 billion rubles by 2030," comments Alexander Bochkin, CEO of Infomaximum, "and the demand for process analysts will only increase. Moreover, interest in the profession goes beyond IT, finance, and retail, industries where it gained a foothold first due to its high digital maturity and abundance of data for analysis. Today, industry, logistics, telecom, and even healthcare are increasingly joining them."
The portrait of the profession is special: 90% of specialists have higher education, the average age is 30-35 years, men and women in the profession are equally divided — a rare balance for the IT sector. However, the market remains closed to newcomers: in 2025, only 8% of vacancies were open to candidates without experience. Most companies are looking for specialists with work experience from 1 to 3 years (56%) and from 3 to 6 years (34%). People with related experience are more likely to enter the profession, and staff shortages persist because employers are not ready to teach from scratch.
