Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. During the week, the Russian army, using high-precision weapons and attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), carried out massive and four group strikes against enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, fuel, transport and port infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and military airfields.

The Russian military also hit long-range drone production and storage facilities, arsenals, temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian armed forces, nationalists and foreign mercenaries, a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and a US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile launcher.

The southern group of troops liberated the settlements of Fedorovka and Markovo in the DPR. As a result of the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 1,400 militants, 13 armored combat vehicles, 50 vehicles and 19 field artillery pieces. In addition, within a week, the Vostok group of troops established control over the settlements of Kamyshevakha in the DPR and Novoselovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region and fully completed the liberation of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic in the group's area of operations.

"During the week, units of the North group of forces improved the tactical situation in the Sumy region. They defeated the manpower and equipment of a tank, three mechanized, amphibious assault, two assault brigades, an amphibious assault and assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two air defense brigades, a brigade and a regiment of the National Guard. Formations of a mechanized, two motorized infantry brigades and an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the Kharkov direction," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian Armed Forces also destroyed six high-speed unmanned boats of the Ukrainian army in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. Air defense systems, in turn, shot down 12 guided aerial bombs, 13 HIMARS multiple rocket launcher shells and 1,513 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 666 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 81,880 UAVs, 627 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,956 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,589 multiple rocket launchers, 29,259 field artillery and mortars, 41,094 pieces of special vehicles.
