Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations failed to find traces of a 58-year-old man who had fallen behind the group in the area of the Aibga ridge. This was reported on September 5 in the press service of the department.
It is specified that from 6:00 Moscow time, rescuers of the Southern regional Search and Rescue squad continue to search for the man. Rescuers from the Southern Equestrian and Dog Training Center, as well as a dog handler, are involved in the work.
"Rescue teams on foot examined the mountainous terrain along the trail leading to the village of Aibga through the Korolev Rock (height 1127 m), the Waterfall River valley from the upper to the lower part of the slope, as well as the area of Krasnaya Skala Mountain, burdock meadows on the southern and southeastern slopes of the Aibga massif," the report said.
In addition, the Russian Emergencies Ministry's Ka-32 helicopter was again involved in the aerial search. The massifs of the 1st and 2nd Galion rivers, both banks and tributaries at the sources of the rivers, as well as the slopes and peaks of the Fir, Horseshoe and Krasnaya Skala mountains (height 1850 m) were examined.
A total of 63 rescuers and 11 pieces of equipment from the Southern Regional Search and Rescue Squad are involved in the search.
The disappearance of a 58-year-old man in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana became known on September 2. It was noted that on August 31, a man on the descent lagged behind the group. Having discovered that one of the participants of the hike was missing, the tourists began to search for the missing man, but without success. It was noted that rescuers were looking for him at an altitude of more than 1.7 thousand meters.
