Prospects for the development of cooperation between Russia and Myanmar were discussed during the WEF-2025

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum, met with a delegation from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar headed by Minister of Transport and Communications Mya Tun U.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Russian-Myanmar cooperation, paying special attention to the long-term development of the agricultural sector and attracting investments to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar through projects under the auspices of the Roscongress Foundation's Investment Platform, the RK-Investments Foundation.

"Today, Russia and Myanmar are building multifaceted cooperation in a wide range of areas, and we see great potential for joint work in the development of Myanmar's agricultural sector, which is one of the pillars of its economy. Russian technologies are able to bring an innovative component, increase the efficiency of the agricultural complex, while returning to the turnover of discarded agricultural land," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the construction of an organic fertilizer plant is already actively underway. The RK-Investments Fund has received comprehensive support from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to provide preferences for the import of construction materials and is moving to begin direct construction work and order equipment for the future plant.

Separately, the prospects of a joint national agrarian project on food security, the development of farmer welfare and the construction of the largest elevator in Southeast Asia, proposed by Myanmar partners in the person of MYANMAR ANBANG INVESTMENT GROUP COMPANY LIMITED, were discussed. The implementation of this initiative will strengthen Myanmar's national food security and significantly expand its export opportunities in international markets.

"Cooperation with the Russian Federation is of strategic importance to us. We highly appreciate the partnership with the Roscongress Foundation and the RK-Investments Foundation, and we see the effectiveness of the coordination meeting formats and joint initiatives. Thanks to the support of the RK-Investments Fund for agriculture in our country, such areas of cooperation as increasing soil fertility, stimulating plant growth and introducing modern seed production technologies are already actively developing. We also see the prospect of jointly implementing a project to create and consolidate rice processing assets that can make Myanmar one of the largest exporters in Southeast Asia," said Mya Tun U, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
