The EAO is actively preparing for the new heating season. This year, in accordance with the instructions of Acting Governor Maria Kostyuk, preparations began immediately after the end of the previous heating season.

We managed to conclude a contract with suppliers in record time. Fuel is provided for the families of ITS participants. The first 12 coal wagons are being unloaded. Everything is on schedule, writes IA EAOmedia with reference to the regional government.

According to Valery Samkov, Acting Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Region, a contract for the supply of 120,000 tons of two grades of coal was already signed in June. In September, 21 thousand tons will be delivered to the region, in October — 25 thousand tons. Due to this, a 90-day fuel reserve will be formed. This is twice as high as the minimum figure. Deliveries will continue in November and December, so as not to reduce stocks.

Alternative fuels and wooden pellets were purchased for some new modular boiler houses. Experts note that pellets are comparable to coal in terms of heat of combustion. At the same time, it is a waste-free and environmentally friendly type of biofuel. 120 thousand tons of pellets are to be purchased under the contract. This will ensure most of the heating period for 19 boiler houses.

At the end of August, it was reported that in the Trans-Baikal Territory, due to the predicted drop in temperature and frosts, heating would be turned on a week earlier. The main heating season in Transbaikalia starts on September 15. However, due to the expected general cooling in the first days of autumn, the dates may be shifted by more than a week.
