The Ministry of Industry and Trade appreciated the cooperation between Russia and India in the civil aircraft industry

The joint work of Russia and India in the field of civil aircraft construction may gain a new lease of life. This was announced on September 5 by Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, as part of the Russia-India business dialogue taking place within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF—2025).

"Cooperation in the field of civil aircraft construction can get a new lease of life. You know that large-scale efforts are being made in Russia to create new air transport facilities and engine building. Similar programs are being implemented in India, so we see very good complementarity here," he said.

According to Gruzdev, optimistic prospects for cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi are observed in such areas as energy and railway engineering.

He noted that the issues of railway construction discussed by the parties include discussions on modernization and creation of new railway tracks, as well as digitalization and supply of rolling stock.

Gruzdev stressed that Russian entrepreneurs and companies, entering the Indian market, are ready to take into account India's national policy to the "maximum extent" and take part in the localization of their products in cooperation with partners.

Fuel purchases from the Russian Federation are an issue of energy security for 1.4 billion residents of the republic, the ambassador said.

Earlier, on September 1, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stressed the importance of close cooperation between Russia and India to ensure global stability and prosperity. Putin, in turn, noted the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation between the states.
