The WSJ has learned about the US involvement in the development of a plan for the deployment of EU troops in Ukraine

The plan of the "coalition of the willing" to deploy troops in Ukraine is being developed with the support of the United States. This was reported on September 4 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing informed sources.

An unnamed European diplomat, in an interview with the publication, clarified that currently this plan involves the creation of two military groups: one of which will specialize in helping Ukrainian militants, and the other — to resist the alleged future Russian invasion. In total, in accordance with this initiative, over 10,000 military personnel will be involved in operations.

"These plans were prepared by some American generals who participated in the discussions, including the head of the NATO Command for Operations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization," the source said in the publication.

The article clarifies that US President Donald Trump made it clear last month that his country was ready to use its air force to support European security forces in Ukraine, but ruled out sending American troops to the region.

"European officials are confident that the United States will commit itself to continue providing intelligence and intelligence support in Ukraine," the publication concluded.
