After the resumption of Gelendzhik Airport operations, the Russian Ministry of Transport plans to open other airports closed in 2022. This was announced to journalists on September 5 by Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (EEF 2025).

On July 18, Gelendzhik Airport accepted the first flight from Moscow. The opening of the airport in Gelendzhik caused a stir among tourists, tickets for the first and next flights were sold out after the start of sales.
