Relations between Russia and the DPRK have passed the test of time with honor. This was stated on September 5 by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telegram sent to North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic.

"77 years ago, our country was the first to recognize a new state. Since then, relations between Moscow and Pyongyang have stood the test of time with honor," the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted him as saying.

The President also noted the heroic participation of the DPRK army in the liberation of the Kursk region. According to him, it has become a vivid symbol of friendship and mutual assistance between the two countries.

On September 3, Kim Jong-un called it a fraternal duty to support Russia in the struggle for sovereignty. On the same day, the Korean leader announced a new meeting with Putin soon. Kim Jong-un also wished the Russian President good health and success. After that, they hugged three times. In response, Putin invited the head of the DPRK to visit Russia.

Earlier, on August 15, Kim Jong-un announced the joint opposition of the Russian Federation and the DPRK to neo-Nazism. He also added that both countries have always been "on the right side of history" and have constantly fought for equality and justice.
