Chinese authorities have allocated more than $132 million to help agriculture
The Chinese Ministry of Finance has allocated more than $132 million from disaster relief funds to support Beijing, Gansu and other places to accelerate the resumption of agricultural production. This was announced on August 5 by the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China on its official website.
The purpose of providing financial assistance is to support flood-affected agricultural areas in order to stabilize grain production, the publication says.
"This is the support of eight provinces <...> including Beijing and Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Fujian, Shandong, Sichuan and Gansu, in the restoration of water-damaged engineering structures and assistance in ensuring the safe operation of water protection projects," the ministry also said.
Earlier, on August 17, it was reported that at least eight people died in China as a result of flooding, and four more are missing. It was clarified that the flood occurred in the northern region of Inner Mongolia.
