Turkey has declared its non-involvement in the plans to assassinate Ben-Gvir.
Turkey has nothing to do with the plans to assassinate Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. This was announced on September 4 by the Turkish Center for combating disinformation on the social network X.
"The mention of Turkey in some Israeli media about the alleged plot to assassinate an Israeli minister is the result of a deliberate campaign of disinformation directed against our country," the statement said.
It is noted that in the Israeli media the event is presented as a new one. However, the story itself refers to an incident that occurred about eight months ago. At the same time, the detained attackers confirmed that they were not related to Turkey. This was also stated by the Red Cross, according to the publication.
"The true purpose of these news reports is to create a deliberately false image of Turkey in international public opinion and thereby damage Turkey's policy towards Palestine," the authors said.
A day earlier, The Times Of Israel reported that Israel's General Security Service (SHABAK) had thwarted a plot by a cell of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in the West Bank to assassinate Ben-Gvir.
On September 2, the Qatari Foreign Ministry reported that the Israeli authorities had not responded to the proposal to impose a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. According to him, Qatar does not see any positive changes in the sector, but only threats of occupation of the city of Gaza, attacks on journalists and civilians waiting for help.
Earlier, on August 31, the representative of the military wing of Hamas, Abu Ubayda, was eliminated in the Gaza Strip. The operation was carried out jointly with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and SHABAK and is part of a campaign against Gaza aimed at neutralizing members of the group.
