Nutritionist revealed the unexpected danger of a habitual dinner
Nutritionist Olga Panova warned that late dinners, especially with heavy and fatty foods, cause serious harm to the body, disrupting its natural rhythms.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, September 4, the expert noted that instead of resting in this situation, the body is forced to spend energy on digestion. According to her, such habits quickly enter everyday life and it can be very difficult to get rid of them. She stressed that it is important to take a conscious approach to eating in the evening, otherwise it can lead to serious health problems.
The nutritionist advised to have dinner two to three hours before bedtime. Even healthy foods, such as cottage cheese, contain calories and, if consumed regularly at night, can lead to weight gain. In her opinion, an egg would be an easier option if there is no intolerance: it is quickly digested and gives a feeling of satiety.
Also, the specialist added, a couple of hours before bedtime, you can drink warm milk with half a banana — such a drink will relax your muscles and provide the body with potassium and magnesium, Moscow 24 reports.
On August 19, cardiologist Tatiana Simonova warned that a late dinner worsens the quality of sleep. According to her, sleeping with a full stomach can cause heaviness, heartburn and discomfort, and the process of digestion takes away energy and prevents the body from sinking into deep sleep phases, notes 360.ru .
On August 15, nutritionist Irina Popkova said that having a proper dinner will help improve sleep quality. According to her, it is useful to eat vegetables and fruits containing melatonin and magnesium in the evening, such as bananas and kiwis. Herbal teas will calm the nervous system, writes RT. But she urged to give up spicy and salty dishes, as well as sweets and white bread at night, the website notes. kp.ru .
At the same time, scientists said that sleep disorders may be related to the composition of intestinal microbes, and the opposite is also true: sleep habits can affect intestinal health.
In March, endocrinologist, PhD Oksana Mikhaleva named products that provoke insomnia. She brought coffee, strong tea and chocolate to them. She explained that caffeine blocks adenosine receptors in the brain, causing alertness and preventing sleep.
