The comprehensive reconstruction of the Metallurg Stadium has been completed in Moscow. This was stated by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in the MAX messenger.

The stadium, located on Semenovskaya Embankment, has turned into a modern sports cluster with a football field, playgrounds and sports grounds. Walking routes have appeared on the territory.

Sobyanin recalled that "on the instructions of the President of Russia and with the active support of the Prime Minister, the abandoned territory of the stadium was transferred to Bauman University."
The mayor stressed that the renovated stadium was a good gift to the university by the beginning of the academic year. The sports cluster will once again become a point of attraction for students, residents of the district and all sports enthusiasts, Sobyanin is sure.

Metallurg was built in the 1920s for the workers of the Hammer and Sickle factory. The legends of Soviet sports trained here. In the 1990s, the stadium hosted the home matches of the Hammer and Sickle women's soccer team, which in 1990 took second place in the first-ever USSR championship.

In 2022, the sports facility was transferred to the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Reconstruction of the stadium took place in 2024-2025. It became part of a large-scale project for the integrated development of the university's territory.
