The development of transport infrastructure is extremely important for the development and development of the Far East and Siberia. This was announced on September 4 by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev during the session "Efficiently, quickly, for people: implementation of national transport projects in the Far East" within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum - 2025 (WEF-2025).

"Of course, the development of transport is, first of all, an opportunity to ensure a normal life, it is the mobility of the population, first of all, it is one of the factors of the quality of life, it is freight transportation that we carry out, and, of course, I would start with rail transport," he said.

According to him, an important megaproject for the development of connectivity between the development of the Far East and Siberia is the construction of the eastern railway landfill. Also, from 2013 to 2024, the carrying capacity of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways was increased from 98 million tons to 180 million tons. He specified that preparations are also underway for the construction of the second Severomuysky, Kadarsky, Kuznetsovsky tunnels and a bridge over the Amur River. Such large-scale projects will open up new opportunities for the development of enterprises in Siberia and the Far East.

In addition, until 2030, measures are envisaged to modernize the airfield infrastructure of 29 airports located in the Far Eastern Federal District (Far Eastern Federal District). It is specified that there are 76 airports in the national project that need to be upgraded. 158 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of the airline in the Far East. Saveliev stressed that aviation in many areas of the Far East is the only year-round and affordable mode of transport for the population of the region.

At the same time, in 2025, more than 16 billion rubles will be allocated for preferential routes within the Far Eastern Federal District. They are planned to carry more than 1.6 million passengers.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the rapid development of the Far East. According to him, significant industrial and infrastructure facilities have been created in recent years. The Russian leader clarified that the development of the region is the country's national priority.
