Almost 2,000 companies participated in the large-scale Summer in Moscow project, which is nearing completion. Compared to the previous year, the number of participants increased by 73%, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his personal blog.

According to him, the project "had a huge economic effect" and became a catalyst for the development of the urban economy.

The mayor recalled that at the start of the "Summer in Moscow" a bet was placed on cooperation with the city business. The entrepreneurs were offered to organize their own events within the framework of the general concept of "Summer in Moscow".

"According to preliminary estimates, in June-July, Moscow catering, culture and leisure organizations increased revenue by 24.3% in comparable prices compared to the same period in 2024," Sobyanin wrote. At the same time, the turnover of cafes and restaurants increased by 24.1% to 159 billion rubles. The sports industry grew by almost 21% (to 21.5 billion rubles), cinema — by 24% (to 3.8 billion rubles), theaters and art — by 6% (to 10.6 billion rubles).

Within the framework of the "Summer in Moscow" project, which lasts more than three months, 86,000 cultural, sports and entertainment events were held. 52 million people took part in them. Compared to last year, attendance at many city venues increased by 10-20%.
