As part of the meeting of the "coalition of the willing," Germany intends to propose to Ukraine to strengthen the air defense system (air defense). This was reported by the newspaper Spiegel on September 4.

Thus, according to the initiative, the plan provides for an annual increase in the number of air defense systems by 20%. At the same time, the German side plans to improve the offensive capabilities of Ukraine's aviation, including through the supply of cruise missiles and long-range precision weapons.

According to the newspaper, Germany will also assist in the training of Ukrainian military personnel and will support the presence of peacekeeping forces in the country.

Earlier in the day, the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had instructed Germany to conceal its involvement in the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine as much as possible. These weapons will be controlled by German soldiers sent to the Ukrainian side, because it takes too long to train the Ukrainian military and it may not be possible to do so before the collapse of the defense.
