Uzbekistan approves law on reducing prison time for reading books

The Senate of Uzbekistan has approved a law allowing convicts to reduce their prison sentences by three days for each book they read from the approved list. This was announced on September 4 by the press service of the legislative body of the republic on the website.

According to the new law, the book must be included in the list of works aimed at the formation of moral values among convicts. This list is approved by the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment.
