In the Khabarovsk Territory, the catch of autumn chum salmon in the Amur River will increase by more than 1.5 thousand tons. The decision was made by the regional commission for regulating the production of anadromous fish species.

The meeting also considered an appeal for the allocation of quotas to indigenous small-numbered peoples in order to ensure traditional fishing, IA AmurMedia notes.

According to the joint press service of Rosrybolovstvo, the bulk of Pacific salmon in the Far Eastern basin has already been caught. The basis of catches are chum salmon and coho salmon. In total, more than 301 thousand tons of salmon were harvested in Kamchatka. Khabarovsk Territory ranks second in this indicator.

Earlier it was reported that salmon fishing in Russia may fall and the price of fish of this breed — pink salmon, salmon, sockeye salmon and others - may change. According to the new draft law of the Cabinet of Ministers, businesses will have to renegotiate contracts for the use of fishing grounds with Rosrybolovstvo by December 30, 2025 and pay a total of about 200 billion rubles for this. Otherwise, the plots will be put up for auction and companies may lose them.
