The bill on changes to the CTP will be considered in the fall

In the autumn session, the State Duma will consider a bill on additional CTP payments for self-repair of a car. This was announced by Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, TASS reported on September 4.

In addition, Aksakov said that it is proposed to introduce the possibility of issuing short-term insurance policies for taxi drivers and public transport.

As Evgeny Ufimtsev, head of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), said earlier in July, if a bill is passed on the procedure for reimbursement for repairs in the CTP law, after receiving insurance payments and repairs, the victim will be able to apply to the insurer for an additional payment within the amount of wear.

If the repair cost was more expensive due to the detection of hidden damage, it will be possible to pay an additional insurance indemnity. And if, due to the fact that the car was repaired at an "expensive" station, the car owner will only be able to additionally compensate for the cost of wear, the head of the RSA explained.

Earlier, on September 2, it was reported that in July of this year, the average premium for CTP policies amounted to 7,245 rubles (-4.9% YoY), and the average payout set a new record, increasing to almost 120.4 thousand rubles. This is 10.5% more than in the same month last year.
