Reports of the detention of Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu are unconfirmed. This was announced on September 4 by the country's Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva.
On her Facebook page (part of Meta, an organization recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), she recalled her responsibility for spreading false information.
Earlier that day, information about the alleged detention of Nurtleu and businessman Haji Hajiyev spread in local Telegram channels. According to these reports, investigators allegedly searched the Minister's house.
