VTB will provide Aurora Airlines with the ability to make international payments, as well as provide the carrier with guarantees under the company's contracts with Russian counterparties. The corresponding agreement for the WEF-2025 was signed by Ruslan Eremenko, a member of the bank's Management Board, and Konstantin Sukhorebrik, CEO of Aurora.

The document also provides for the implementation of joint investment programs by the partners. In addition, VTB will support the innovative development and modernization of the enterprise.

As Ruslan Yeremenko noted, "VTB's capabilities in servicing cooperation between Russian companies and China are unique due to the bank's branch in Shanghai." He expressed confidence that the bank's cooperation with the carrier would have a positive impact on the mobility of residents of the Far East.

In turn, Konstantin Sukhorebrik pointed out the importance of VTB's guarantee support and the bank's expertise in financial support of international operations, taking into account the growth of Aurora's passenger traffic and the development of the airline as a whole. "We appreciate the cooperation with our financial partner and look forward to further developing this mutually beneficial partnership," he added.

By the end of 2024, Aurora increased passenger traffic by more than 13%, to 1.5 million people. The company develops all segments of passenger air transportation, in particular, socially significant transportation and international destinations to China. Aurora aircraft fly on 65 routes, covering all regions of the Far Eastern Federal District and the largest airports in Siberia. Aurora operates flights to China from all three base airports, and the total number has reached 20 per week.

The main shareholder of JSC Aurora Airlines with a 49% stake is the government of the Sakhalin Region. The airline is based at the airports of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. The fleet includes 19 aircraft.
