The Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan stopped the fraudulent activities of a former employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation in the region when receiving payments. This was reported on September 4 in the press service of the regional FSB.

It was established that in 2016, the man submitted deliberately forged documents to the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of Dagestan, on the basis of which the agency transferred funds to him for the construction of residential premises.

"Magomedov N.R. caused damage to the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Dagestan on a particularly large scale, totaling more than 3.9 million rubles," the press service of the FSB of Russia said.

They clarified that the court found the ex-FSIN officer guilty under Part 4 of Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud in receiving payments") and sentenced him to three years of probation.

In March, a court found 21 residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory guilty of fraud committed by a group of individuals or by prior agreement on a large scale (Part 3 of Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It was noted that for embezzlement of federal budget funds on an especially large scale, the defendants were sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 2.3 to 2.5 years. The stolen money was allocated by the state to support families with children.
