Mourning has been declared in Lisbon after the funicular crash. This was reported on September 4 by the publication SIC Noticias.

"The government has declared a day of national mourning, and [Lisbon Mayor] Carlos Moedas has declared three days of mourning in Lisbon," the article says.

The cabin of the famous funicular Elevator da Gloria, which transports hundreds of tourists and locals daily, derailed and overturned on September 3. At least 15 people were killed and 23 others were injured.
