The future of the creative sector of the Russian economy was discussed at the WEF-2025

The Creative Industries Forum was held on the opening day of the tenth anniversary of the Eastern Economic Forum. The main theme of the event is "Ideas as an economy: creativity as a resource for the development of regions and countries." The organizer is the sociocreative platform of the Roscongress Foundation, the Innosocium Foundation.

"The creative economy is one of Russia's strategic development priorities, being the most important factor in growth and increasing competitiveness in the global market. The interest in the creative sector and its importance for the future of the country has been repeatedly noted at the highest level. The industry needs support and long-term strategic initiatives that will effectively integrate innovation potential and creative resources, including into traditional economic activities, creating new opportunities for exports and the creation of highly qualified jobs. The Creative Industries Forum is becoming an important platform for collecting feedback from representatives of this sector of the economy, developing necessary government solutions and creating mechanisms for the development and promotion of the entire industry both in Russia and abroad," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of Russia and Executive Secretary of the WEF Organizing Committee.

The Forum hosted more than 10 strategic sessions on gastronomy as part of the experience economy, the integration of artificial intelligence into the production of creative products, the investment potential of Russian content, the event industry in the Far East, the future of literature in the digital age, and other topics.

"The Creative Industries Forum in Vladivostok confirms that the creative economy is becoming a driver of social and economic development in Russia's regions. Our goal is to bring together experts, entrepreneurs, and government officials to form a long–term strategy and create new mechanisms to support the industry. We see this as a contribution to the future of the country's economy, as well as the formation of a cultural code that is open to the world," said Elena Marinina, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and Chairman of the Board of the Innosocium Foundation.

The presentation of part of the report "Creative Economy of Russia" also took place during the event.: Results and development vectors after the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum-2025", developed jointly with the Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo", in terms of the development of the industry in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The study by the Innosocium Foundation and Skolkovo examines the current state of the credit cluster, the attitude of industry participants to its prospects, the ratio of Russian and international experience in the creative economy, personnel issues and barriers to development, and presents differentiated results from the study of each of the 16 branches of the creative economy.

It is expected that the results of the analysis will be used in the preparation of a strategy for the development of creative industries, which is being developed on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin under the supervision of Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

The WEF 2025 Creative Industries Forum brought together entrepreneurs, investors, government officials, experts and leaders of the creative industries from all over Russia and from more than 15 foreign countries.

In addition to the Creative Industries Forum, the Innosocium Foundation also organizes five thematic sessions as part of the WEF's main business program. The discussions are devoted to the development of the social infrastructure of the Far East, the "silver" economy, creative competition and other topics. In addition, a film workshop "Creating images of the future: the role of film institutes in shaping values and worldviews" will be held. The event will discuss the launch of the Eurasian Academy of Cinematographic Arts and the Diamond Butterfly Award.

Also, as part of the "Soul of Russia" project, implemented by the Innosocium Foundation, an immersive concert "Soul of Russia. Russia to the World", the premiere of the film "The King of the Night", film screenings of popular paintings of the latest films and documentaries from the festival "Unknown Russia", exhibitions, a podcast studio and other events are planned.

The tenth Eastern Economic Forum is taking place on September 3-6 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The main theme this year is "The Far East: cooperation for peace and prosperity." The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
