One person was injured in the collapse of a mine in Yakutia
In the Oymyakonsky district of Yakutia, a rock collapse occurred at a mine. One person was injured in the incident, the Russian Emergencies Ministry's Telegram channel for the Sakha Republic reported on September 4.
"A rock collapse occurred on the territory of the Oymyakon district, one person was injured," the ministry said in a statement.
At the time of the incident, 55 employees were underground. All of them are being evacuated to the surface. Work at the enterprise has been temporarily suspended, and rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and employees of the mine have been involved in eliminating the consequences.
Earlier, on August 13, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened into the death of a 55-year-old underground mining foreman in a mine in Transbaikalia. As specified in the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the man received various injuries due to the derailment of an electric locomotive and died on the spot.
