Russia needs to return to world sport. This was announced on September 4 by Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev during the opening ceremony of his ministry's pavilion at the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025).

"Our only goal and strategy is a full—fledged return to world sport," he said.
